In a nutshell though, the pain is very bearable. It sounds scarier than it actually is and we have numbing sprays and cream available if needed!

The number of sessions required varies based on a number of factors such as the size and thickness of the tattoo, type and depth of ink, scarring, skin type and whether your end goal is complete removal or lightening prior to a cover up tattoo.
As a guide most professional tattoos will require at least six to twelve treatments. Follow up treatments are conducted at no less than 4-6 week intervals. Further fading can occur for several months after each treatment.
Every individual is different and will get different results.
It is important to wait a minimum of six weeks between sessions as it takes the skin that long to heal. The laser smashes up the ink particles and this also takes six weeks for your lymphatic system to process and clear out of the body.
If you try to laser the area within the six weeks it will not fade the tattoo any quicker and only waste time and money. As the tattoo gets lighter you may have to wait longer periods of time for a treatment as there is less pigment in the skin to pick up. Tattoos can continue to fade for up to two years.
In many cases, there will be a 99% clearance of the tattoo. On average, 95% fading is considered a good result. The result depends upon the colour and type of ink used as well as the depth of penetration of the ink in the skin. Your therapist can discuss with you the likeliness of success during your initial consultation.
Getting a tattoo removed is not the most pleasant feeling but is bearable. People have compared it to getting tattooed or being flicked with a rubber band but will be gone within seconds.
Luckily laser tattoo removal is quick taking anywhere from a second to minutes
You can have a tattoo removed as soon as it has completely healed. A minimum period of 3 months is advised – even though it may appear healed after only 1 week!
Absolutely! Tattoo fading can help you to replace a tattoo, amend a tattoo or create space to improve on your current designs. We suggest you give the area at least 6 weeks following the removal so it is completely recovered.
